LEAD SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

Now Software, a Columbus-area based technology company, is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to lead our SQA effort. Now Software is developing its next generation calendar and contact management product to succeed the award-winning Now Up-to-Date & Contact. This individual will play a key leadership role in defining and implementing comprehensive QA processes that increase the quality and productivity of the software lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The QA Lead will own the Software Quality Assurance process
  • You will participate in all stages of the software development life cycle
  • You must be comfortable developing tests, test cases, test data, and refining requirements
  • You will be expected to take the initiative to devise innovative ways to define and continually improve the QA process, and take advantage of industry best practices, tools and technologies to accelerate productivity
  • You will be expected to monitor, maintain, and provide reports for bug tracking and defect resolution to the team and management and to assist in process improvement in these areas
  • You will be expected to manage an external beta testing process, including communications, logistics, and support
  • You will direct and manage additional QA staff
  • When necessary, you will be expected to assist other team members in technical or sales support

Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a Software Quality Assurance environment
  • At least 2 years in a QA leadership position
  • Experience in creating, executing and maintaining manual and automated test procedures for integration, system, regression and user acceptance testing
  • Experience with life-cycle software development: requirements, specification, design, testing, implementation, debugging, and support
  • Experience managing others
  • Ability to work independently in a small development group with minimal supervision
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Skills Required:

  • Strong Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh background
  • Ability to administer bug tracking systems
  • A healthy obsession for process and metrics
  • Ability to lead and coordinate additional SQA resources
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal skills

This full-time position is located at company headquarters in Columbus, Ohio and reports to the VP, Product Management.
