How to create Calendar and Contact Files.

Description: All of your events are stored in a calendar file and all of your contacts are stored in a contact file. They're linked and share information. Remember, you only need ONE calendar and ONE contact file. You can use the calendar "Sets" feature to display different information. You can also use the Categories feature for both calendars and contacts to give you an infinite way to display and organize your information.

You DO NOT need separate or multiple calendar and contact files to store personal or separate project information.

Preparation:  Now Up-to-Date & Contact installs sample files for you to experiment with. After you've tried out some features and are ready to start using your own calendar and contacts you can follow these steps.

Creating a New Calendar File in Now Up-to-Date:

1. Open Now Up-to-Date.

An untitled calendar file appears.

2. Select Save As from the File menu.

The Save As dialog box appears.

3.  Give the calendar a name and select the Make this my primary file check box. You might also want to save this file to your Documents folder.

Designating the file as primary ensures it will open automatically whenever you open Now Up-to-Date. It also allows you to specify reminders and link your calendar events with your contacts from Now Contact.
