How to install a calendar or contact server - Now Server Manager
Description: One of Now Up-to-Date & Contact’s most powerful features is the ability to share your calendar and contacts with other users. This allows groups like businesses, organizations, or families to schedule meetings, manage resources like meeting rooms, track projects, and manage prospects and customers. To use these features, after you've installed the client software, you'll need to set up the Event (calendar) and Contact servers using the Now Server Manager. It’s easy - just follow these steps.
Preparation: You'll need a Mac or PC (It doesn't matter which - either your existing server or a desktop machine). This computer needs to remain on ALL THE TIME. You'll also need a network setup for all the systems you want to connect to the Server, or Internet access. You'll also need a fixed IP address for the server. Contact your ISP for information on fixed IP addresses.
You'll also need your Now Up-to-Date & Contact installer – either from the CD (if you purchased the boxed edition) or download the latest from http://www.nowsoftware.com/downloads.
NOTE: You don’t need a serial number for your server. You only need serial numbers for the end users. You do not need to install the client software on the server, unless it is also being used as a client.
Also NOTE: The Now Server Manager is distributed as a part of the main Now Up-to-Date & Contact installer.Installing the Now Server Manager - Mac
